Idaho Falls Builder Review: Rockwell Homes
Rockwell Homes has been East Idaho's largest home builder for over 25 years. Today we are going to go over 3 items.
1. Price Ranges
2. Customization
3. History
Price Ranges
Rockwell has many different price ranges across all of their subdivisions and areas. Their starter home divisions can range between $325k-$400k. Their upper price range homes can vary between $400k-$600k. Rockwell Homes also owns another local builder named Liberty Homes that is more of the custom division if you are wanting to build above $600k. Rockwell does not typically finish their basement, but it is something that can be discussed if the home is just in the beginning stages. Landscaping can also be added into the price instead of needing to be paid out of pocket after closing.
Customization
For being a starter home one of the best things about Rockwell is the ability to pick out all of your options if you get a home under contact in the early stages. Customization can include- exterior colors, window frame colors, exterior materials, exterior lights, siding, and stucco. The interior can also be customized including items such as flooring (carpet, LVP, Hardwood Floors), Door colors, door designs, cabinets, fireplace mantels, countertop materials, and more.
History
Rockwell has been building homes in Idaho Falls, Ammon, Iona, and more cities for over 25 years. Rockwell has been a local family business which has given it a competitive advantage over larger national builders. Rockwell overtime has become one of the most popular homes across all of it's price ranges due to their ability to keep deadlines and quality of work. Rockwell Homes is the biggest builder in East Idaho building between 300-400 homes a year. Being the biggest builder has helped Rockwell keep some of the areas best sub contractors working with them for over 20 years.
My Opinion
I have personally built with Rockwell Homes in the $500k price range. They were great to work with especially with any of the changes/upgrades that we decided to make. We added electric car charges with them, extra shower heads in the master bathroom, and more. The other great thing about them is their system of building. You are constantly in contact with an assigned representative that will keep you informed during the whole process. There are a lot of builder in our area that could benefit from copying Rockwell's building process. The other great thing about them is their home warranty. They are the best builder when it comes to their warranty work. They are quick and responsive to get subs out for any work that needs done after you close. For example on our home we have had normal settling which has ruined some of the grout in our home. (we had a really cold winter this year which cause the home to shrink and expand from it warming back up) They are the one of the builders I trust the most to come out for any warranty work. Now obviously every builder has their faults one of the most common things I hear about Rockwell is that they are "cookie cutter homes" which is true. Rockwell develops and builds all the homes in their divisions so you are going to have homes that can look the same. I will say that they are great at making sure there aren't multiple of the same floor plans built right by each other. They do have over 20 different floor plans. In my opinion they are one of the best builders to work with unless you're wanting to build a full custom home. I mentioned earlier that they do have a custom home division that we will review in the next few months.
